今天想 quote 的話：蘇珊 • 桑蒂（Susan Sontag） 的金玉良言
Susan Sontag，我最愛的評論家之一。很久以前，她那既溫柔又鏗鏘的名字，有一個（起碼我覺得）很美麗的譯名，蘇珊 • 桑蒂；但不知從什麼時候開始，桑蒂變成了桑塔格，一個呆板、醜陋，完全沒半點優雅、智慧與氣質的文字組合（又塔又格，你說有多噁心？）。我不明白的是為什麼有些口口聲聲推崇她嘴裡說喜歡她（其實抑或是把她的名字往自己的臉上貼金又或是靠她來賺錢）的人，可以容忍這樣教人難過的譯名（話之佢係國內定譯！）。
去年法蘭克福書展之旅，拿了一本 DAAD's Artists-in-Berlin Program (DAAD = German Academic Exchange Service) 的專刊，裡面輯錄了參加過這項計劃的 36 位作家/詩人的照片和一句他/她們的說話。說得最好的（起碼我覺得）就是桑蒂（她是 1989 年的參加者。對，是 1989，那風起雲湧的一年） 。回來後一直想在這裡引述，和別人分享，也用來警惕/勉勵自己。只是...皆因懶惰...

How true!

I love and admire Susan Sontag's body of works,thanks for sharing her quotes with us.Can you write something on the recent death of Robin Wood?I presume you also admire his writing.Who hasn't been under some kind of influence from Wood's film criticism/books when one come to love and enjoy world cinema and film criticism from 70's to 90's?

回覆刪除Robin Wood不僅影響了我的整個寫作”生涯“，還在更深層次上影響了我的生命。他的逝世，我不悲働，因為畢竟已是個70多歲的老人，但卻感到巨大的失落，很傷感。很有衝動想寫點什麼，向老先生致敬，致謝，但卻又恐力有不遞，而且很想先重溫先生的某些文章，如是者一拖再拖...謝謝你的建議與鼓勵。我會努力的。
